How to revive heating and water facilities?

Nowadays old buildings as boarding school, schools, manufacturing enterprises, hospitals, polyclinics and many others are still in exploitation. Their heating and water facilities have been used for more that 60 years.

Serious investments should be done by customers for the renovation for such type of buildings. They appropriate money for central goal achievement - economical heat procurement. For this purpose several variant could be used. Firstly, a boiler should be replaced and changed to domestic fuel. Secondly, heating facilities should be structurally changed. Thirdly, plugged system should be replaced or just washed from long-term slush. Radiators’ pollution intensity is very easy to find out during cold season. It is enough to check the temperature of each sector from below and above. The border between them could be hot (passable) or cold (polluted).

Notice. We do not taking into account bubbling method of flushing.

First two methods eradicate old system defects and do not provide following renovation in premises because it consists of some elements. When the system is polluted inside both methods are useless because new boiler will heat and ‘drive’ the same amount of the dirt as it would be an old one.

The third method is the most effective till now, but it is expensive, too because it demands an overhaul. Partial replacement or flushing of heating facilities could be the variant, too. But it does not solve the problem as such.

Qualitative flushing is done by means of dismantling – take down – flushing – gathering –assembling. It is time-taking process and expensive. It involves dismantling and flushing of every part manually. ‘Crap job!’, nothing else to add. Every part of cast iron radiator can comprise 1,7 l of puddle mud (pic.1) Can you imagine how much dirt is in living-room, hospital ward, bedroom, operating room or in office.

In what way flushing technology is different?

Firstly, it is ecologically friendly. Dirt separators have increased fluidity, so to say; it appears to be something like ‘adjuvant’ to water. When it is in contact with water it does not change its structure as acids and alkalis do. After it touches the ground the agent splits into constituents and at the end of the month remains of the agent do not appear in the ground. All agents are neutral towards any surfaces. Their objective is to separate dirt from the surface on the molecular level. Thanks to theirs unique characteristics the agents separate one molecule from other.

Secondly, the technology differs by its effectiveness. There is no dirt in the system after such cleaning. Them system is entirely clean – to metal.

Thirdly, it differs by its simplicity and availability, absence of big amount of dirt processes and speed of execution. All the stages could be divided and be realized during weekends, too, do not removing the object of service.

The technology looks like that:

At the first stage lower dead-ended blind flange is dismantling and blind flange with globe tap is assembling in every heating device (pic.1). It is well visible how much dirt is in blind flag (pic.2,3).

At the second stage ‘Economic’ washing product is laid in filled up heating system. The heating system works definite time with washing products. During this time water together with the products penetrate between dirt particles on the molecular level.

The quantity of the ‘Economic’ depends on liquid volume of the system, exposition time and temperature. All these factors could be found in the instruction which we use when we provide the concentration choice. At the final stage special device or pneumatic pistol should be connected to each of the ball plug valve. Then it should be opened up and kinetic shots over the liquid in the system should be done, too. During this process every dirt particle receives definite ‘indignation’ and dirt fall to molecular pieces that push off from each other. Consequently there is no block or sediment. There is only thick creamy liquid similar to oil. After several shots dirt liquid must be empty from the device (pic.4). It is necessary to make extra shots during the bleeding process. After cleaning process of every radiator all the system should be washed with flowing water. The liquid become absolutely clean and transparent. Blind flange should be taken off after such cleaning. The heating devices are absolutely cleaned till the metal (pic.5,6) at the same stage are all pipes. Thus, the heating system is revived.

Washing technology for hot water supply.

As a rule there are no dead-ended devices, all are passable and end with taps. Therefore, there is no need for an extra facilities assembling. Using instruction for ‘Descaler Super’ we choose temperature regime, concentration and exposure period for dirt separation.

  • Fill up the system with solution.
  • Several shots should be done from pneumatic pistol in water of the system
  • Leave for some time
  • Continue to shot in the system, draining water from it
  • As in old heating systems taps screw joints exit by means of the dirt or corrosion, there are moments when taps fall down after flushing. In these cases we can reinstall them, but for additional money.

As a rule tenants of the house, the personnel of the hospital and schools who have problems with normal pressure of water turn for help for such type of services. When this problem is fixed, revived water supply provokes rush! There were such situations where people had to walk for water to the station on the neighbouring street, because the system were absolutely blocked, the water did not pass through. There were no suitable products. The following disinfection is not needed because ‘Descaler Super’ has disinfection effect and is ecologically friendly/clean. It belongs to substance hazard category IV. It could be used for equipment cleaning in food manufacturing industry and is well swills out with water.
