Cleaning and disinfection

Such a wish as ‘I want everything to be clean and harmless!’ is feasible! Let’s consider the options.

Everyone knows how to clean and disinfect the surface. First of all good cleaning product is needed. Surface cleaning as such is necessary because when the dirt is removed, bad bacteria starve and partially disappear. A good disinfectant for the surface is required, too. This is all the work – everything looks perfectly!

Is it good or bad? Possibly good. Let’s think about it, but do not enter into details. Let’s use simple words, but first of all we should define basic notions.

Washing agent is a product with the help of which it is possible to take away any kinds of dirt from the surface. A good washing product is that which can make the surface perfectly clean. Is that all? More and more frequently we hear that a good washing product should be both environmentally friendly and good in appliance.

Disinfectant is such a product which kills microflora on the surface. It is considered to be that a good product is maximally effective, but is kills all bacteria. The word ‘kills’ is alerting and it is true, because it really kills bacteria, moreover, it should be removed from the surface after cleaning. Consequently, there are so many things to do: to clean, to disinfect and only after that to remove from the surface. Could it be done? - Yes, it could be done! There are washing products with disinfectants that during some time fall into pieces, so they could be not removed from the surfaces.

‘Perfectly, I need exactly this! It is fast and harmless!’, says a customer. Stop, to kill does not mean that it is harmless, it’s a fantasy! Can we do otherwise? In order to answer this question we should know many things about microbiology (the microbe world).

Let’ begin with cleanness and harmlessness. When the surface is clean it has bacteria in ratio of 3% of opportunistic microbes (bad) and 97% of nonpathogenic (good) microbes. Can you imagine how many microbes there are? This is not true, there are 2,5 kg microbes in the human organism. These bacteria help to live normally. Have you ever heard about dysbacteriosis (disease caused by an imbalance of the normal flora of the organ or part of the organ)? So, total lack of bacteria is not always useful. Consequently, there are good bacteria that should be left and can even help! Take a look at the picture. Most people think that clean surface looks exactly like that:

Actually the microbiological picture looks a little differently:

Where did ‘free space’ come from and why it is essential? Let’s bring to mind out knowledge in microbiology. It is necessary to satisfy 4 mandatory conditions for the life and proliferation of any bacteria:

  • pH of habitat : 6,5 - 9
  • temperature: 0 - 60 °C
  • humidity
  • food

If at least one condition is not met, at first bacteria stop to proliferate, then begin to die naturally. That’s it – real mechanism that should be used! It is also necessary to remember about one of the nature’s inherent features – vast number of harmful bacteria under condition of deterioration cannot take the form of pinholes in order to go through ‘bad times’ and die. The Quarantine principle is based on it, but many useful bacteria can take the form of pinholes and outwait ‘bad times’. Such ‘injustice’ of nature is balanced by the fact that pathogenic bacteria (under favorable conditions) proliferate three times faster than useful bacteria.

But why air holes are needed? Let’s turn to emphasis. There often exists antagonism between pathogenic and nonpathogenic bacteria in the nature. That is why the spaces around pathogenic bacteria are not occupied by the useful bacteria. These spaces are reserves for pathogenic bacteria development: reserves for additional food and moisture. It follows that if you implement a mechanism of food and moisture removal, harmful bacteria begin to die, and only useful bacteria will stay. Could it be disinfection?

There is no unsolved problem? The product known as ‘washing probiotic’ is created. Probiotics are live microorganisms thought to be healthy for the host organism. And what does washing probiotic do? It is shown on the picture:

Washing probiotic is environmentally friendly washing agent which contains both washing and spent solutions of useful bacteria. It washes as everyday products, but with the difference that it does deep surface cleaning. In spent solution nonpathogenic bacteria are strong and ready for the food intake and proliferation. They are not afraid of pathogenic bacteria. They utilize free spaces with food, despoiling bad bacteria their reservoirs. Let’s combine what we can get from usual disinfection and from washing with probiotics:

DISINFECTION WASHING WITH PROBIOTICS
Starting conditions are the same

Have disinfected having killed all bacteria Cleaning with the help of probiotics and adding useful bacteria

Possible variant of the surface after some time

Let’s look at the result. It comes out that we can infect the surface even more that it was before cleaning? It is possibly, but the surface will get back to its initial condition and the second disinfection should have been definitely done, then more and more. We will become disinfection slaves. What if disinfectant is still harmful? ACL (admissible concentration limit) norms for the premises exit and we will need more time for the cleaning or just ignore them.

At its core washing probiotic doesn’t present disinfectant, it is washing or cleaning agent. During some month of regularly usage the balance of bacteria on the surface becomes as follows: 0,5 % - pathogenic, 99,5 % - nonpathogenic. Is it really bad to become probiotic slave? We brush teeth and wash up everyday, but we do not feel ourselves as slaves? Besides, there are toothpaste with probiotics, too.

Skeptics and disinfectant fighters will state: ‘What about the disinfection diagram?’ or ‘What about the overall number of microbes?’ It has been truly stated that all disinfection diagrams are obsolete methods based on absence of qualitative instruments of bacteria control on the surfaces.

All the more reason proximate methods of quantitative evaluation of inimical bacteria presence on the surfaces are obsolete, and exactly by them it is possible to draw reasoned conclusions about surface cleanness from pathogenic bacteria. Furthermore, investigations have showed that during regular usage of washing probiotics, the overall microbial number normalize at first and then become even below the mark, with the assumption that harmful bacteria are decreasing in their number. Such bacteria as salmonella fully disappear.

Washing probiotics become really profitable and useful hygiene accommodation for food production, medical and social centres, kindergartens and schools and etc.

The most pleasant thing is that this product is real and could be found in Latvia!
